It happened a few miles southwest of Manchester on 120th Avenue around 3:30 pm. The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office says the bus was southbound when the driver, Fredrick Vorwald of Manchester, met a vehicle and got too close to the shoulder of the road. He tried driving half in and half out of the ditch until he came to a farm field driveway. That’s when the school bus went all the way into the ditch and hit a utility pole.
Vorwald and the ten students on the bus were all checked by an ambulance that responded to the scene. Authorities say no one was injured.
The students were loaded onto another school bus to be taken home.
Vorwald was cited for failing to maintain control.
