Several Honored at Manchester Chamber’s Ag Luncheon

The Manchester Chamber hosted their annual Ag Luncheon on Thursday, with a large turnout at the Delaware County Fairgrounds Pavilion.

Retired Virginia Tech professor Dr. David Kohl returned as this year’s guest speaker.

FFA students from local schools were on hand to hear Dr. Kohl speak and participate in a morning career fair.

The Delaware Soil and Water Conservation District Commissioners presented several awards to local residents who have implemented conservation on their land. The Greeley Fire Department was awarded with the Windbreak Award, Andy and Vicki Recker received the Don Eibey Memorial Award and Bob Wendt was presented with the Delaware County Conservation Award. Wendt, who farms just north of Delhi, has implemented such conservation as no-till and contour farming for the past two decades.

And the Manchester Chamber presented their Friend of Ag Award to Jeannie Domeyer. Domeyer serves as the Delaware County Fair Manager and has been involved in agriculture since a young age.

This marked the 36th year for the Manchester Chamber Ag Luncheon.
