School board elections are Tuesday, September 12th. West Delaware has a contested race in this year’s school board elections, with Ryan Peyton and Ed Poynor running for the four-year term in the South District. Peyton is hoping to win the seat currently held by Dr. John Tyrrell.
Peyton and his family grew up in the West Delaware School District.
Peyton believes having two children in the school district will help him as a West Delaware school board member.
Peyton says safety and student opportunities would be his top priorities if elected.
Peyton’s race against Poynor is the only contested race in the West Delaware district this year. Dan Hogan is running unopposed for the four-year term in the North District, currently held by Tom King. And no candidates filed to run for the two-year term in the South District, which Steve Dudak is currently filling for Steve Buesing, who resigned earlier this year.
All voters in the West Delaware School District will be able to vote for all three open seats. Polls will be open Tuesday from noon to 8 pm.
We’ll visit with Poynor on Monday’s KMCH Local News.
