By Jon Swisher-Sports Director:
Students from West Delaware High School will join thousands of other youth on athletic fields across the nation tonight to share their Christian faith with fellow students during the 14th annual national Fellowship of Christian Athletes’ Fields of Faith event. This rapidly growing, interdenominational outreach event will be held at more than 500 locations throughout the country. FCA’s Fields of Faith is structured as a student-to-student ministry with assistance by professional speaker Zach Blickens. Peers invite their own friends, classmates and teammates to meet on their school’s athletic field to hear fellow students share their testimonies, challenge them to read the Bible and come to faith in Jesus Christ. This will be the third annual Fields of Faith event for West Delaware. Last year, approximately 500 students and supporters attended at Brown Field. Zach Blickens has been speaking to people across the United States and internationally for more than two decades. In partnership with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes he has had the privilege of using music and the spoken word to share the message of Jesus with more than 95,000 people in more than 20 nations. Zach is a fiercely passionate and often very funny communicator. His energetic delivery is driven by a belief that God desires to meet powerfully with everyone who is hungry to know him. The event this evening will begin at 7:00 inside Brown Field.
