Cedar Valley Honor Flight Welcomed Home in Waterloo
Around four hundred people and a big band welcomed home ninety northeast Iowa veterans when they returned from the 37th Cedar Valley Honor Flight trip on Wednesday night.
Several local Vietnam era veterans were on the flight, including Larry Torson of Oelwein, Robert Richards of Fairbank, and Kenneth Loughren and Richard Griswold, both of Winthrop.
The group is planning their 38th trip in September and are seeking veterans from WW II, Korea and the Vietnam era to apply to go on the free trip. Veterans from throughout northeast Iowa are eligible.
