An Earlville man has been arrested on meth charges.
43-year old Robert John Richter has been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance – Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
According to a criminal complaint filed by the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy found Richter asleep in his vehicle. The vehicle was in the roadway on 270th Avenue near Earlville while the vehicle was still in gear around 3 am on Monday, May 22nd. While speaking with Richter, the deputy noticed a short tube with white residue in the cupholder of the truck. After searching Richter, the deputy also found a small envelope containing a white powdery substance with a rolled-up dollar bill. The substance later tested positive for methamphetamine. A glass pipe with meth residue was also found in the truck.
Richter was taken into custody and transported to the Delaware County Jail.
