Manhunt after Gun Fired at Rural Peosta Home

Authorities set up a manhunt after a gun was fired at a rural Peosta home on Thursday morning.

The Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office says numerous agencies responded to 14931 Lost Canyon Road #4 for a report of shots fired around 11 am. The caller said Travis Dauber fired a gun from inside the home, which exited through a bedroom window.

When authorities arrived, Dauber fled with his weapon into a wooded area to the north of the trailer park. A perimeter was set up to contain him as police tried to locate him.

Two hours later, Dauber was located and ultimately surrendered peacefully. He was taken into custody and transported to the Dubuque County Jail. He faces charges of Domestic Assault with Injury, Child Endangerment, Possession of a Control Substance, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon, and Harassment.
