Authorities have released the names of those involved in this week’s deadly Dubuque County crash.
The accident happened just east of Cascade on Highway 151 near the intersection of Gehl Lane around 11:30 pm on Sunday night.
The Iowa State Patrol says a car driven by 59-year old Ben Howard Nelson of Des Moines was driving southbound in the northbound lanes of Highway 151 when he collided head-on with another car.
Nelson was killed in the crash.
The other driver, 24-year old Laura Daniela Brinez Camacho of Dubuque, was seriously injured and transported to a Dubuque hospital.
One of the passengers, 40-year old Yolanda Jean Brown of Des Moines, was seriously injured and airlifted to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Two other passengers, 18-year old Jorge Boldu Alsina of Spain and 17-year old Giovanne Bazzanella of Italy, were seriously injured and transported to Dubuque hospitals.
The crash remains under investigation.
