Manchester Starting Process to Hire New Police Chief

The City of Manchester is starting the process of hiring a new police chief.

Chief Jim Hauschild recently announced he would be taking advantage of the City’s voluntary early retirement program, with his last day May 31st.

City Manager Tim Vick had received recommendations from other communities that have gone through a recent police chief search to consider Jeff Cayler with Cayler Consulting, LLC.

The Manchester City Council approved paying Cayler a $150 hourly rate, not to exceed $15,000.

The City’s hope is to have a new police chief in place before Hauschild retires this spring, but Vick says they may be cutting that timeline pretty close.
