A bicyclist was airlifted to the hospital after an accident in Buchanan County on Tuesday afternoon.
The Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office says shortly after 2 pm, they received a 911 call of a vehicle vs. bicyclist accident in the 1300 block of Fairbank-Amish Boulevard.
A preliminary investigation found that a vehicle struck a bicyclist along the edge of the road. Both the vehicle and the bicycle were traveling southbound.
The bicyclist was airlifted from the scene to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. The Sheriff’s Office says the extent of their injuries was unknown.
The two people in the vehicle were not hurt.
The accident remains under investigation at this time.
