CSB Donates $5,000 to Build Guttenberg Community Outreach Center

Community Savings Bank recently donated $5,000 to the build of the Guttenberg Community Outreach Center.

In this project, the Guttenberg Economic Industrial Development Committee will partner with the Guttenberg Municipal Hospital & Clinics’ Family Resource Center to build a Community Outreach Center that will expand services for the Family Resource Center and Food Pantry, provide additional community meeting/training space, and allow for a second-floor expansion to meet future community needs.

The expansion will make room for community members to conveniently access additional agencies, expand services the Family Resource Center can provide, and create another option for a community space where up to 150 people can gather comfortably.

“As an employee of Community Savings Bank as well as a member of the Guttenberg Economic Industrial Development Committee, I’m proud of our donation,” said Jackie Lee, Community Savings Bank VP People & Culture. “The new Community Resource Center is going to be an incredible addition to the community.”

The need for expanded services through Family Resource Center has been growing since the onset of the pandemic. The Family Resource center has assisted nearly 14,000 Iowans in the past 24 months through 11 different agencies. That number is expected to grow to nearly 18,000 in the coming months. The current space has become too small to serve the needs of the region.
