MPL Celebrating National Library Week

This is National Library Week. And Manchester Public Library Director Alison Hegland says they’ve been busy celebrating.

Hegland says the library is more than just checking out books.

Nearly five thousand people have a library card to the Manchester Public Library, with more than 42,000 patrons visiting the library last fiscal year. And the new drop box in the library’s parking lot has been a big hit – allowing patrons to return books anytime of the day without having to get out of their car.

If you haven’t been to the library in awhile, Hegland invites you to stop by. And they’ve got some exciting things coming up that you’re welcome to check out.

Manchester Mayor Connie Behnken visited with the library staff and library board on Thursday morning, signing a proclamation in honor of National Library Week (pictured above).
