WD Music Hosting Winter Concert, One of Many Fundraisers for NYC Trip

The West Delaware Music Department and Friends of Music are hosting a fundraiser this Saturday.

Julie Sleper says it’s called the Winter Wonderland Cookie Concert, with two shows at Hanson Auditorium at 2 pm and 7 pm.

Saturday’s concert is a fundraiser for the music department’s trip to New York City next summer – one of many to help send 70 high school music students to the Big Apple. They’ve already raised money through car washes, soup suppers and wreath sales – and they even had a colorful toilet making the rounds in people’s yards this summer and fall.

So far, they’ve raised $15,000 for the New York City trip – with $5,000 of that coming from the toilet fundraiser alone. And they’ve still got more fundraisers coming up, including the Daddy-Daughter Dance, the Color Run and the Prom Dress Sale. Lori Kartman says there’s a reason why there are so many fundraisers this time around.

If you’d like to support West Delaware Music and their upcoming trip to NYC, you can always check out their Facebook page for the latest fundraisers. And if you’d like to attend their Winter Wonderland Cookie Concert on Saturday, it’s ten dollars, with kids 10 and under seven dollars.
