The Colesburg community said goodbye to a former mayor on Wednesday.
Rich Sampson died Sunday at Terrace Glen Village in Marion. He was 88.
Sampson served as the mayor of Colesburg for eighteen years from 1999 to 2017. City staff says he truly loved his community and was happy to serve.
Funeral services for Sampson were held Wednesday morning at Colesburg Methodist Church, with burial in the Zion Cemetery.
