Daughter Arrested for Trying to Shoot Dad at Central City Home
One person has been arrested following a shooting at a Central City home.
The Linn County Sheriff’s Office says the shooting happened a couple weeks ago on Monday night, April 17th. Shortly after 9:30 pm that night, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 28 West Maple Street in Central City for a report of a shot fired into the home.
The bullet narrowly missed 60-year old Mark Ward, who was asleep in bed.
On Wednesday night, his daughter, 24-year old Alexis Ward, who also lives at the home, was taken into custody on a charge of Attempted Murder. She is also being charged with Assault Domestic Abuse by Display or Use of a Weapon, as well as Reckless Use of a Firearm.
Authorities believe Alexis Ward purposely fired as shot into the home, intending to kill her father.
The case remains under investigation.
