Dr. Rickey Discusses Decision to Retire as West Delaware Superintendent

West Delaware Superintendent Dr. Kristen Rickey will be retiring at the end of the school year.

Rickey made the announcement last week, with the school board approving her resignation on Monday night. She tells KMCH it wasn’t an easy decision. 

Rickey is in her 13th year of leading the West Delaware School District – and when she looks back over her time in Manchester.

Now, the West Delaware School Board will need to turn its attention towards finding a new superintendent.

Rickey’s retirement will become effective at the end of this school year in June 2024. She says there is a lot she wants to do during the next stage of her life.
