Forecasters Say Winter Storm Still Possible Early Next Week

Forecasters say a possible winter storm could still impact eastern Iowa early next week.

The timing for the potential storm would be Monday afternoon into Tuesday night.

The National Weather Service says it looks like the greatest impact could be seen over far southeastern Iowa, but that area could still change. There is still some uncertainty on the exact track of this system, which influences how much snow will fall and where. However, with this likely being a potent system, strong winds are expected – so even if the snow turns out to be relatively light, blowing snow and reduced visibilities are possible. Temperatures near the ground may be near to above freezing at times, which would limit the snow amounts.
