Winter Storm Warning Continues, NWS Predicts 9 to 14″ Total Snowfall

A winter storm continues to impact eastern Iowa.

The National Weather Service says a Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until midnight tonight.

Delaware County Emergency Management Coordinator Mandy Bieber says periods of heavy snow are expected throughout the day, with rates over one inch per hour.

Bieber says road crews are doing their best to keep up, but it’s been difficult.

And this heavy, wet snow brings some challenges compared to the light, fluffy snow we sometimes see.

North winds will also be picking up throughout the afternoon, gusting as high as 45 mph into this evening – which will likely result in lingering travel impacts into early Wednesday.
