West Delaware Approves Early Separation Package for Nineteen Employees

West Delaware is offering an early separation package this year – and nineteen employees are taking advantage of the opportunity.

Superintendent Dr. Kristen Rickey says it’s not something that’s offered every year.

For example, Rickey says West Delaware’s federal funds for COVID recovery expire this year. The school district had hired a lot of additional staff to help with learning recovery, so they knew those funds would be going away.

The applications for the early separation package were due in early January, with the board approving the list at their board meeting last week. West Delaware will be saying goodbye to a good group of teachers, staff and coaches – many who have been with the school district for a long time. And Rickey says that’s not easy to see those employees leave.

Along with Superintendent Dr. Kristey Rickey, the West Delaware staff members who have chosen to take the early separation package this school year include Jeff Voss, Craig Hutton, Lori Nagel, Carmen Cooke, Patrick Phillips, Dale Meyer, Mark Helmrichs, Robin Mebus, Joellen Doyle, Pam Schaffer, Joyce Curtis, Dawn Walters, Elaine Gibbs, Christine Skinner, Gary Skinner, Jan Eilers, Sherry Dudak, and Mary Offerman.
