A rural Hopkinton man was sentenced to prison Tuesday afternoon.
45-year old Vernon Stutzman was charged last July with nineteen counts after authorities say he sexually abused several children at his home.
Stutzman pleaded guilty in December to a total of five counts – three counts of Incest and two counts of Intent to Commit Sexual Abuse. The charges are in connection to three individuals sexually abused between 2018 and 2023.
The other charges will be dismissed.
The Delaware County Attorney’s Office says the Court imposed up to seven years in prison for Stutzman at Tuesday’s sentencing.
The five-year prison sentence for the three counts of Incest will run concurrently with one another. The two-year prison sentences for the two counts of Intent to Commit Sexual Abuse will also run concurrently to one another.
Stutzman is currently being held in the Delaware County Jail.
