KMCH, Tucker Honored with Three IBNA Awards

The Iowa Broadcast News Association honored KMCH with several news awards at its annual convention on Saturday night in Johnston.

KMCH and News Director Janelle Tucker placed 3rd in the state in the top category of Overall Excellence in Small Market Radio for the station’s news coverage in 2023.

Two news stories also won recognition in the Small Market Radio category. 

Tucker received 3rd place in General Reporting for “Manchester Tornado”, a story that aired the morning after an EF-1 tornado hit Manchester and portions of Delaware County in March 2023. She also won 3rd place in Feature for “Honor Float on Lake Delhi”, a story that aired in June 2023 about the inaugural boat ride honoring local veterans on Lake Delhi. Tucker has served as the News Director at KMCH Radio in Manchester since August 2004. She has been a member of the Iowa Broadcast News Association since 2007.
