Diane Marie Doese of Delhi

Diane Marie Doese, 89, of Delhi, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at St. Luke’s Hospital in
Cedar Rapids, Iowa, surrounded by family. She was born on February 12, 1935, in Manchester, the daughter of
William and Shirley (Brooks) Kewney. She was raised in the Manchester area and was a 1954 graduate of
Manchester High School.
On August 21, 1955, Diane was united in marriage to John Aldrich “Jack” Doese in Manchester. Three children were
born to this union. Early in their marriage, Jack was stationed in Lincoln, Nebraska, while serving in the United
States Air Force. While there, Diane worked for General Telephone. The family returned to Iowa and moved onto
the family farm near Delhi. Diane then worked for Rockwell Collins until her retirement.
Diane enjoyed raising and riding horses. Diane also enjoyed traveling with her family and friends – whether on a
Honda Goldwing, Winnebago RV or just getting about in her car. Above all else, Diane loved her family, making the
sun shine every day for them. She was always attending lots of family birthdays and grandchildren’s and great-
grandchildren’s wrestling, horse shows, FFA and many other special events. Diane was always there to lend a hand
when needed – helping with photo shoots, the horse barn or even minding some of the family dogs.
Survivors include her three children, Debra (Lynn) Yelden of Strawberry Point, David (Ellen) Doese of Fairbank,
and Julie (Ricki) Boyle of Marion; six grandchildren, Leighton Yelden, Brianne (Ryan) Sparrgrove, Jon (Katherin

nephews.
