Authorities have released the name of the driver killed in a Jones County crash on Thursday.
The crash happened at the intersection of Highway 151 and Shaw Road shortly before 1 pm. The Iowa State Patrol says 76-year old Larry Nielson of Anamosa was driving his van eastbound on Shaw Road. He failed to yield to a southbound car on Highway 151 and the two vehicles collided.
Nielson died in the crash.
The driver of the southbound car, 34-year old Jessica Steffen of Dubuque, was injured and transported to Finley Hospital.
Three others were also injured – 54-year old Jaymis Hoffman of Dubuque and two juveniles – though the State Patrol’s crash report did not indicate which vehicle they were passengers in. All three were taken to area hospitals.
