Manchester City Council Considering Development Agreements

The Manchester City Council is considering an agreement that could bring more housing to town.

Developer Wes Schulte is in the process of building more property along West Marion Street. The proposed development would incorporate a new 12-plex apartment, with the opportunity to expand to include two additional 12-plexes. The City will be checking into further details about the development agreement, with a special council meeting planned for next Monday.

The Council also held a public hearing on a voluntary annexation request by Kammiller Tree Service. The property will be rezoned I-2 General Industrial District. No public comments were made about the request.

And the Manchester City Council set April 22nd as the date for a public hearing on a proposed Urban Renewal Plan Amendment for the purpose of entering into a development agreement with A-1 Mobile Storage Service. The company is proposing to construct a 70,000 square foot manufacturing facility and truck shop in Manchester. The proposed development agreement includes a 80-percent property tax rebate for ten years and the financing of the installation of infrastructure improvements necessary for site development. The City will rebate up to $1.26 million and provide up to $400,000 in infrastructure improvements.
