This is Severe Weather Awareness Week in Iowa.
Delaware County Emergency Management Coordinator Mandy Bieber says their agency works closely with the National Weather Service to help keep the county informed and protected during severe weather.
Bieber says while the county is prepared for severe weather, it’s also important to be prepared on a personal level.
Officials recommend having a way to stay alert of weather watches and warnings. In addition to staying tuned to the radio or TV – and having a weather alert radio – you can also sign up for text or email alerts through Alert Iowa at smart911.com.
