Delaware County Pork Producers Raise Over $30,000 at Pie Auction
The Delaware County Pork Producers held their annual “Bake It With Lard” Pie Contest and auction on Saturday night.
Doris McAllister of Worthington won first place for her caramel apple pie. The winning pie was purchased by Custom PreCast of Cascade for $900.
McAllister also won second place with her pecan pie. Lindsay Manternach’s peach pie took third, Nick Smock’s pumpkin pie placed fourth, Michael Fortman’s apple pie took fifth and Shirley Manternach’s caramel pecan pie finished sixth.
A total of 73 pies were sold at auction, raising nearly $33,000. The money raised helps the Delaware County Pork Producers with pork promotion.
New little royalty was also crowned, with Layla Loeffelholz winning the title of Little Miss Pigtails and Henry Ries named Little Sir Hamalot.
