Manchester Preparing for Upcoming Pool Season

Manchester is getting ready for the upcoming pool season.

City Parks and Rec Director Doug Foley says the season will open with a new manager running the Kramer Aquatic Center this year after longtime manager Jody King retired last summer.

The Manchester Aquatic Center recently underwent some repairs during the off-season – several expansion joints were re-caulked to fix ten small leaks in the pool. Foley says another project will be a little more noticeable to pool-goers when the Aquatic Center opens.

Over eight hundred kids went through the swim lessons program in Manchester last summer – that includes both group and private lessons. And group lesson sign-up for this summer is now currently underway.

Foley says if you’re interested in private swim lessons, those sign-ups will be held in-person only on Wednesday, May 8th from 5 to 7 pm at the Aquatic Center.

Pool passes are available now at Manchester City Hall – after the pool opens, they’ll be available at the Aquatic Center. The pool usually opens Memorial Day weekend in Manchester, but the exact date will depend on the weather.
