Families Encouraged to Fly Kites at Manchester Event

A free event this evening in Manchester is giving families a chance to spend some time together outside.

Regional Medical Center’s Parents as Teachers is hosting their annual “Let’s Go Fly a Kite” event at West Delaware Middle School.

Parent educator Kristi Hoefer and school counselor Shelby Piersch say April is Child Abuse Prevention Month – and this event is a way to bring the community together so parents can learn more and enjoy a fun activity with their kids.

Kites will be provided, along with a free sack supper – just bring a blanket for a picnic. All families are welcome.

Tonight’s “Let’s Go Fly a Kite” event runs from 5:30 to 7 pm at the middle school. Just walk through the main hallway where the “Together We Are – Parent Resource Night” will be taking place. Head out the back doors and that’s where you can fly kites and grab your sack supper.
