Road Work in Manchester and Dyersville Delayed Until Friday

Because of this week’s wet weather, the start of road work in Manchester and Dyersville is being delayed until Friday.

The City of Manchester is getting ready to kick off their 2024 Street Project, which is a continuation of the East Main Street project from two years ago. This year’s project will cover East Main from Bailey Drive to nearly Stiles Street, with total street reconstruction. The Bailey Drive/East Main Street intersection will be closed to traffic, with two detours in place – one just north of East Main and the other on South Brewer Street. Detour signs have been up since Monday. Road work was scheduled to start Wednesday, but is now pushed back until Friday. The project will take about five months to complete.

And in Dyersville, the on-ramp that takes traffic from Highway 136 onto Highway 20 westbound is closing. Crews will be working on patching and overlays for the bridge deck. The DOT says the ramp was scheduled to close on Tuesday, but will now be pushed back to Friday. Work is expected to last until late May, weather permitting.
