Authorities Release Names of Two Killed in Highway 20 Collision Near Farley

Authorities have released the names of the two people killed in a Dubuque County accident on Tuesday night.

The crash happened on the west side of Farley at the Highway 20/Olde Castle Road intersection around 5:15 pm. The Iowa State Patrol says an eastbound SUV tried illegally passing vehicles in the northbound turning lane when it rear-ended a garbage truck that was in the turning lane waiting to turn north into Farley.

The driver of the SUV, 20-year old Miranda Held of Cedar Falls, and her passenger, 21-year old Samuel Linck of Cedar Falls, were killed in the collision. 

The driver of the Kluesner Sanitation truck, 32-year old Adam Linden of Sherrill, was not hurt. 

The crash remains under investigation.
