Carla Annette Dotson, 64, of Delaware, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2022, at the Edgewood Convalescent Home in Edgewood. She was born on December 26, 1957, in Iowa City, the daughter of Carl and Gertrude (Robison) Peyton. Carla was raised and educated in the Delhi and Independence areas.
On February 6, 1981, Carla was united in marriage to Stephen “Steve” Dotson in Delhi. Four sons were born to this union. Carla and Steve owned the Dotson Bakery from 1988 – 1996. She also worked for Greene Telemarking, Full Circle, and Unlimited Services. Carla enjoyed gardening and loved her dog, Susie. She especially loved her family, spoiling her grandchildren, and spending time with them.
Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Steve Dotson of Delaware; her three sons, Matthew (Emmy Jo) Dotson of Manchester, Steve Dotson of Manchester, and Michael Dotson of Edgewood; six grandchildren, Charlee, Oliver, Alice, Wyatt, Caroline, and Aurora; four siblings, Mary (Howard) Schartzhoff of Cheyanne, Wyoming, Jane (Ron) Sickels of Manchester, Jim (Del) Peyton of Bellevue, Nebraska, and Janet (Steve) Teel of Walker; and many nieces and nephews.
Carla was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Jason in 1981; and five brothers, George, Don, Bob, Bill, and Dick Peyton; and four sisters, Florence Rafoth, Doris Peyton, Deloris Fisher, and Betty Peyton.
