Dundee Native Returning to Serve as St. Mary’s School Principal

A Dundee native is returning to Delaware County to lead one of the local schools.

Jen Soderblom has been hired as the new principal at St. Mary’s School in Manchester. She says it’s a full circle moment for her – she’s a West Delaware grad who attended St. Mary’s as a kid.

Soderblom, whose parents are Don and Kathy Boeding of Dundee, moved onto the University of Iowa after high school, majoring in Vocal Performance and Education. She then received her Masters from Drake and has been in the Des Moines area for the last four years.

And when the St. Mary’s principal position opened up, she took the opportunity to apply.

Soderblom says she’s excited for her new role. She’ll take over for Kelley Harbach on July 1st.

And she says they’re fortunate to be growing at St. Mary’s, so they’re also looking for a 6th grade teacher, a kindergarten associate, a junior kindergarten associate and an extended care director – those positions are posted on Teach Iowa.
