Two Arrested During Drug Search at Lamont Home

Two people were arrested during a drug bust in Lamont last week.

The Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office says deputies executed a drug-related search warrant at a home in the 300 block of Monroe Street shortly before 6 pm last Monday, May 1st. 

During the search, deputies found controlled substances and drug paraphernalia. 

39-year old Lonnie Beck of Lamont was taken into custody for possessing meth, fentanyl, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was also charged with failing to affix a drug tax stamp and keeping a vehicle or premises for controlled substance use. 

Deputies also arrested 53-year old Harold Beck of Elkport on an active arrest warrant out of Delaware County for failing to appear. He was transferred to the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office. 

The Iowa State Patrol assisted Buchanan County in the search and arrests.
