A Dubuque County home was destroyed in a fire on Monday.
The Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office says they were called to 16562 Carmen Oaks Drive east of Rickardsville for a structure fire shortly after 11 am. Fire departments from Sherrill, Asbury, Holy Cross, Farley, Key West and Centralia-Peosta also responded.
When emergency personnel arrived on scene, an attached garage was fully engulfed in flames, with flames spreading into the living quarters. The residents inside had already evacuated. No injuries were reported.
The home is considered a total loss, with an estimated value of $450,000. The fire remains under investigation and is not considered suspicious.
