A Linn County campground is closing until next year.
Buffalo Creek Park campground near Coggon has closed for the rest of the camping season.
Linn County Conservation says there has been significantly lower camper usage in Buffalo Creek Park this year – most likely due to the ongoing construction involved with the adjacent campground expansion project.
Nineteen additional campsites will be added from the current thirteen at Buffalo Creek Park, with an added shower house and restroom facility. A new playground and reservable open-aired shelter for the park are part of the renovations.
Linn County Conservation also manages modern campgrounds at Wanatee Park near Marion, Morgan Creek Park west of Cedar Rapids, and Pinicon Ridge Park near Central City.
