City of Manchester Creating Comprehensive Parks Master Plan

The City of Manchester will be taking a closer look at their park system.

On Monday night, the City Council approved hiring MSA Professional Services to help analyze the current conditions of the city parks and develop plans for the future. The company is an engineering and consulting group that specializes in parks.

Manchester City Parks and Rec Director Doug Foley says it’s been over twenty years since the City has had a long-term park plan, so it’s time.

It’s ideal timing to create a master plan as the city’s aquatic center has a leak issue and Baum Park was damaged by the tornado that moved through Manchester this past spring.

Foley says they’ll be working on the plan over the winter months.

The City is paying MSA $12,000 to help create the comprehensive parks master plan.
