Mary Lee Florence Kahle, 77, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester.
She was born on February 15, 1946, in Dubuque, the daughter of Clarence and Rosella (Sherlock) Gudenkauf. Mary Lee was raised in the Manchester area and was a 1964 graduate of Manchester High School.
On May 17, 1969, Mary Lee was united in marriage to Burnell Kahle at St. Mary Catholic Church in Manchester. Three children were born to this union. The family resided north of Manchester and Mary Lee was a homemaker. In 2015 Mary Lee moved to town and recently resided at the Good Neighbor Home. Mary enjoyed camping and playing cards. She loved living in the country and enjoyed her pets. Mary Lee was an avid reader and a lifetime Elvis Presley fan. She loved her family and spending time with them.
Survivors include her three children, David Kahle of Manchester, Lisa (Terry) Clemen of Dyersville, and Sandy (Larry) Holtz of Coggon; four grandchildren, Lexi and Maci Clemen, and Lindsey and Carter Holtz; her sister, Marcia (Kenny) Hoeger of Manchester; sisters-and brothers-in-law, Karen (Jerry) Seavy of Cedar Rapids, Henry (Maxine) Kahle of Turlock, California, Dorothy (Larry) Moser of Colesburg, Carol Moser of Garnavillo, LuAnn (Jon McElderry) Kahle of Garnavillo, and John (Tammy) Kahle of Guttenberg, and Bob Moser of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces and nephews.
Mary Lee was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Burnell; sister-in-law, Verla Moser; and brother-inlaw, Neil Morarend.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Megan at Above and Beyond Hospice, and the staff at both the Edgewood Convalescent Home and Good Neighbor Home for their wonderful care.

Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Manchester, Iowa, with Rev. Gabriel Anderson officiating.
Visitation: 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Manchester, Iowa. Friends may also call an hour before the service at the church on Wednesday.
Interment: St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Manchester, Iowa.
