City of Manchester Declares Year of Kindness

The City of Manchester is starting a new initiative this month.

Mayor Connie Behnken has declared a Year of Kindness for Manchester. She says she would love for everyone to focus on the positive.

City Council member Mary Ann Poynor says there will be a different theme each month, with October centered around our neighbors.

And Poynor says they’re hoping habits of kindness will build across Manchester as we go through the next year heading into 2024.

The City is inviting you to go to the City of Manchester’s website or Facebook page for more information – and to share your acts of kindness there too.

Right now, the City has been BOO-ing businesses and residents with a special Halloween treat – and they’re inviting the recipients to keep the fun going with their own BOO baskets. You can surprise your neighbors, friends or community members with a small treat or gift with a “You’ve Been Booed” note – but try to do it anonymously and make a swift, sneaky exit. You can find more information on the city’s website and Facebook page.
