The Delaware County Pork Producers have set the date for their annual pie contest and auction.
The “Bake It With Lard” Pie Contest will be held Saturday, April 6th at the Delaware County Fairgrounds Pavilion in Manchester. The Pork Producers invite you to enter your best pies – they must be baked with lard (no pudding pies). The pies can be entered for judging between 4 and 6 pm that night. Prizes ranging from $10 to $100 will be awarded to the top six place finishers.
All pies will be auctioned off at the event, with proceeds going toward swine building renovations at the fairgrounds, promotions and education.
A carved ham meal will be served at 6:30 pm. The cost to attend is $17 for adults and $6 for kids ten and under.
