KMCH SPORTS: WD Hawk Girls place 8th at Class 1A State Bowling

BY JON SWISHER – SPORTS DIRECTOR:

For the West Delaware Girls Bowling team getting to state was one of their main goals this season, once they got there a top four finish was on their radar. After 10 game they were about 30 pins out of fourth behind Vinton-Shellsburg. Unfortunately the Hawks could only manage a 160 average in the last five, which put them in fifth place and into the consolation bracket.  It was the first team to three wins in a five set match competition. Then they pushed Charles City to five games but were defeated and lost to St Alberts of Council Bluffs in four in the 7th place match.
