Constance “Connie” Joan Funke – Manchester

Constance “Connie” Joan Funke, 81, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at the Regional Medical Center in Manchester.

Connie was born April 21, 1942, in Manchester, the oldest child of seven children, the daughter of Ronald and Eileen (O’Connor) McGraw. She graduated from Manchester High School in 1960 and then attended Mercy College in Cedar Rapids. On February 16, 1963, Connie was united in marriage to Lloyd Funke at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Masonville. Together Connie and Lloyd raised their five children on the family farm between Ryan and Manchester, before retiring and moving to their new home outside of Manchester in 2003. Shortly after moving to their new home, Connie and Lloyd were blessed with multiple grandchildren. Connie worked as an X-Ray technician before raising her children. She also worked at Keystone AEA with children with special needs for a number of years in the 1990’s. She was a wife, mother, and loving grandmother to her nine grandchildren. Connie was loved dearly by all who knew her. Connie was a faithful member of St. Mary Catholic Church. More than anything, Connie enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, following them in sports, band, and all other aspects of their lives. She would often attend multiple events in one day spread through several towns. All the sports families at the different schools loved her.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Lloyd Funke; her five children, Jim Funke of Cedar Rapids, Laura (Ron) Chramosta of Anamosa, Megan (Mike) McKenna of Peosta, Scott (Joan) Funke of Manchester, and Shaun (Ann) Funke of Shueyville; her nine grandchildren, Cameron Chramosta, Kieryn, Katie, and Kellen McKenna, Jenna, Jeryn, and Jayce Funke, and Addison and Hayden Funke; her siblings, Carole (Butch) Weber, Colleen (Richard) McGraw, Jan (Larry) Wickman, Jim (Kandice) McGraw, and Jeff (Becky) McGraw.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Ronald and Eileen McGraw; her parents-in-law, Tony and Margaret Funke; one brother John McGraw; brother-in-law, Richard Warfield; sister in law, Rosie Funke; niece, Michaela Havertape, and nephew, Richard Funke.

Public Visitation: 2:00 to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, February 25, 2024, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Manchester, Iowa. Friends may also call from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m., on Monday, at the church. A rosary will also be recited by Catholic Daughters.
