KMCH SPORTS: Coverage Area High School Football Personnel Recognized by IFCA

The annual Iowa Football Coaches Association’s Awards Luncheon was held Saturday afternoon at the Prairie Meadows Event Center in Altoona.

Four KMCH Sports coverage area men were honored for their efforts and success.

Class 4A assistant coach of the year – Brett Kilburg of Western Dubuque (not in attendance for picture)

Class A regional head coach of the year – Mike Augustine of Starmont

Class 2A statewide head coach of the year – Wes Wilson of Monticello

Ken Winkler Distinguished Service Award – Bill Logan, West Delaware Football Statistician

Former Hawks Head Coach Doug Winkowitsch presented Logan with the award and thanked him for his over 40 years of service to WD Football that started with Bill serving as a member of the chain gang in the 1980’s, then becoming the lead statistician in the late 90’s before adding the title of sideline reporter for Hawks Football broadcasts from KMCH Sports in the mid-2000’s. Logan talked about why he chose to invest so much time in West Delaware Football and what this recognition means to him:
