Update: No Injuries in Tuesday’s Highway 20 Pursuit

Manchester Police Chief Jim Hauschild tells KMCH no one was injured in Tuesday night’s pursuit along Highway 20 in Delaware County.

34-year old Dallas Ross Selby led authorities on a vehicle pursuit after failing to stop for a Manchester police officer in Manchester around 9 pm. Selby had a valid felony warrant for his arrest. Officers pursued Selby south out of Manchester on Highway 13, then westbound on Highway 20 and finally eastbound on Highway 20 – with Delaware and Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies and Dyersville Police joining in the pursuit.

Chief Hauschild says speeds reached as high as around 105 miles per hour. Authorities deployed two sets of spike strips, which successfully deflated the tires of Selby’s vehicle and brought the chase down to around 60 miles per hour – with speeds around 40 miles per hour by the end of the pursuit.

The pursuit ended in the Dyersville area in the median of the Highway 20/Highway 136 interchange. Hauschild says a deputy used a pit maneuver to stop the chase before the road construction zone.

Selby was arrested and charged with Eluding and Operating While Intoxicated, with additional charges pending.
