Anamosa Pumpkinfest Honoring State Penitentiary at 2022 Event

Anamosa Pumpkinfest says they’ll be honoring the Anamosa State Penitentiary during their annual event this fall.

This year’s theme will be “150 Years and Still Standing Gourd” – coinciding with the 150th anniversary of the Anamosa State Penitentiary. Leadership from the penitentiary – both past and present – will be invited to be the grand marshals for the parade.

This year’s 34th Annual Anamosa Pumpkinfest and Ryan Norlin GIANT Pumpkin Weigh-off will be held Saturday, October 1st. Along with the parade, there will be a Main Street festival that include pumpkin carving displays, kids’ games, food, arts and crafts vendors, a car show, 5K run and, of course, giant pumpkins, watermelons and other gourds.
