Pastor Ede Saying Goodbye to Manchester Community

A beloved pastor is saying goodbye to Manchester.

Reverend Tony Ede has served as the pastor of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Manchester for the past ten years. He has accepted a new call of ministry to the North American Lutheran Church Executive Office in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

Pastor Ede announced the news to his parishioners a couple weeks ago and says it’s been a mix of emotions since that time.

Ede’s new role with the church’s executive office will be quite different than it is now – instead of having his own congregation, he’ll be serving as one of the Bishop’s assistants.

Pastor Ede’s wife and three boys have already made the move down to Texas, with Ede’s last Sunday of worship on September 17th. He says saying goodbye will be difficult as he thinks about his connection to the community and all the walks he and his parishioners have taken together.

The Manchester community is welcome to celebrate and congratulate Pastor Ede and his family as they make their transition. An open house will be held Sunday from 10 am to noon at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Manchester. Everyone is welcome.
