Hottest Weather of the Year So Far Forecasted Tuesday

The hottest weather of the year so far is forecasted on Tuesday.

A Heat Advisory will go into effect at 10 am Tuesday in our section of the state, lasting until tomorrow night. Meteorologist Kristy Carter, at the National Weather Service, says it’s already steamy and it’s only going to get hotter.

Carter says there should be a little relief in the high temperatures midweek, with highs dropping back into the mid-to-upper 80s Thursday and Friday. But another warm-up is on the way Sunday into next week. Carter offers a few nuggets of advice for beating the heat.

The six-to-ten-day outlook is calling for above-normal temperatures for Iowa through June 22nd, with summer officially arriving on the 21st.
