The Linn County Freedom Rock will be dedicated this weekend at the fairgrounds in Central City.
Iowa artist Ray “Bubba” Sorenson has spent several years traveling the state to paint a Freedom Rock in every single one of Iowa’s 99 counties. Linn County was his 99th Freedom Rock – the final county rock to be completed.
A dedication ceremony will be held this Sunday in honor of Military Appreciation Day. You’re invited to join them for a special program featuring music, special tributes and a celebration of the Freedom Rock project donors.
Sunday’s ceremony will start at 9 am.
