Roger Orvil Jones, Jr., 70, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Monday, July 11, 2022, at his home. He was born
August 12, 1951, in Dubuque, the son of Roger and Mary (Williamson) Jones. Roger was raised and educated in the
Dubuque area graduating from Dubuque Senior in 1969. Roger than joined the United States Navy and served
honorably for 16 years and two years in the Navy Reserve. He was on the USS Dubuque and serviced 26 months in
Vietnam.
On January 15, 1971, Roger was united in marriage to Sharon Frank in Galena, Illinois. Four children were born to
this union. Roger worked in the Dubuque and East Dubuque area retiring from Mi-T-M Corporation. He enjoyed
traveling in his RV and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Sharon Jones; his three children, Melissa (Sam Schumacher) Reilly of Cedar
Rapids, Laura (Steven) Staver of Reno, Nevada, and Andrew (Abigail Westphal) Jones of East Dubuque; eight
grandchildren; three brothers, Charles (Marilyn) Jones of Manchester, Mark Jones of Indiana, and John (Gina) Jones
of Benton, Wisconsin.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Rodney Jones; his granddaughter, Cheyene Kircher; his
brother, Todd Jones; and his two sisters; Doris Jones and Patricia Carr.
