A crop duster helicopter made an unexpected landing in a Fayette County cornfield on Friday morning.
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office says shortly after 11 am, they received a report of a crop duster helicopter that had clipped a powerline and went down.
Deputies say the pilot, Nicholas Jerell of Doral, Florida, clipped a powerline that spanned across a cornfield near M Avenue and 130th Street outside Fayette. Jerell was able to control the aircraft to a quick decent and landed it safely in the cornfield.
No injuries were reported, but the helicopter sustained some damage.
