Construction recently started on the new Edgewood Viking Loop Trail.
Members of the Edgewood Trail Committee have been working on a multi-use trail around Community Dreams and the Industrial Park since a community survey in 2015 chose trails as the number one item on the wish list for recreation.
The goal is to create a safe recreational route that would promote healthier lifestyles for Edgewood’s residents and patrons.
This route, the Viking Loop, is being constructed on donated ground. The trail will be just less than a mile, with a ten-foot wide concrete path to accommodate traffic from both directions and natural plants along the sides.
Work started this summer and is expected to wrap up in mid-September.
